The following article, reprinted from „Das Notgeld“ (Vol. 1, Issue 3, October 1919), shows that collecting ration currency became a popular hobby already during World War I. The author describes the various difficulties he encountered when trying to obtain specimens of ration cards from food offices and describes the most interesting pieces from his collection. The illustrations were added by the editor (M. Bochniak) and were not a part of the original article.
