International Journal of Rationing

The International Journal of Rationing is an electronic journal devoted to the history of rationing and ration currency. The high standard of the journal is guaranteed by an intensive peer review process. It is available online and free of charge.

Through an Open Access publishing model, The International Journal of Rationing  opens an forum for both historians and collectors of ration currency to share their knowledge by publishing original expository and research papers, catalogs of ration currency, comments and short communications  and by reprinting official documents.

In order to reach a broader audience the journal accepts submissions written in one of the 3 languages: English, German or French.

Jan Olenski from Warsaw recently published a catalog of all Polish food ration cards issued between 1976 and 1989.

Monograph on Bohemia and Moravia ration cards 1939-1945
Jiri Stepek from Trebic, Czech Republic, recently published a comprehensive scientific monograph devoted to ration cards issued during World War II in the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia. On 456 pages he describes all types of ration cards and their variations. 136 color illustrations are included.

Catalog of German Ration Cards 1939-1945
Marius Bochniak published a catalog of food ration cards issued in Germany 1939-1945. It contains a detailed description (in German) of all types of food ration cards and their variants and it lists all 2993 single ration cards issued by the Ministry of Food and Agriculturet. The book was printed in A4 Format, it contains 186 full color pages with 1020 illustrations.
